*Hey you*, welcome to the second half of 2026! As HIG gradually empties for the **summer holidays**, we’re looking forward to the quietest months of the year. Of course, business never stops—but you can’t always be switched on, *right*? That’s why you’ll find a ***Summer Special*** edition of our **Monthly Dispatch** at the Service Desk in our lobby and at various businesses in the neighbourhood, packed with great tips from your fellow HIG’ers. We’ll also be sharing them across our digital channels over the coming weeks. Read **part one** below.

  
**Masja van Deursen – Shelter for Design**

As a designer, Masja of Studio Beige continues to seek out cultural experiences, even during the hottest summers. “My tip is Hoek van Holland, where you can escape the heat inside the former ammunition bunker **Icoon** and visit the [***Shelter for Design***](https://www.icoonhvh.nl/shelter-for-design/) exhibition, curated by HIG friend Berry Dijkstra.” *“It’s perfect to combine with a trip to the beach.”*  
  
**Frans Jan van Geenen – Big Rivers**

“Every summer, I return to ‘my city’, Dordrecht,” says designer Frans Jan. On 10, 11 and 12 July 2026, the city will host the [**Big Rivers Festival**](https://www.bigrivers.nl/), a free music event inspired by Mardi Gras and held in the beautiful historic city centre. *“It’s three full days of celebration in Dordt.”*  
  
**Nina Swaep – Level Up Your Lunch**

“We have a new *summer obsession* at the office,” says Nina from Team HIG. “It may sound a little unusual, but it’s **tinned fish**. Sardines with lemon, for example, tuna in oil, anchovies with garlic or mackerel in tomato sauce. *Anything goes!* *Close your eyes and imagine yourself on the Mediterranean for a moment.”*

**Marco Voormolen – Oase**

Marco is incredibly enthusiastic about [**Oase**](https://www.oaserotterdam.nl/): “It’s absolutely fantastic there in the summer. After an enjoyable bike ride or water taxi journey, you’ll find sun loungers, a beautiful view and a refreshing breeze from the water waiting for you. And on top of that, they have a brilliant cultural programme.” *“There’s a reason it’s my favourite terrace in all of Rotterdam.”*
